“Quai De La Tournelle”

Catherine Malandrino

“Quai De La Tournelle”

A few weeks ago I attended the Catherine Malandrino show during NYFW. The presentation was a vision of Parisian chic. The  Silhouettes in color palettes of emerald green, royal blue, ruby red, and deep purple were shown. Models stood with  jackets made of wools, furs and leathers, Chiffon blouses, fishnet embroidered dresses, pleated skirts and basket weave heels.  Stunning wearable necklaces were shown with pearls, crystals, and enamels. To set off the evening looks over-sized totes in python, and bejeweled pouches were also presented. How much do you just love this presentation?  I personally fell in love with the entire collection, and I just can’t wait to purchase one of Catherine’s mink coats, and some of her stunning necklaces for next fall!

My photo diary from the Toni Francesc show during New York Fashion week.

Toni Francesc was the last showing on Saturday night. Overwhelming amounts of fashionistas, and press filled the Lincoln Center to get a glimpse of Toni’s first time ever showing during NYFW. Inspired by a modern-day interpretation of the legendary phonix bird. Toni’s models grazed the runway with feathered eyelashes, and dramatic eyeliner. Wearing elegant silk,  pleated dresses, pant suits, and high waisted trousers. All his silhouettes had elements of color in gray, gold and burnt orange. The collection was completely stunning! After the show he invited everyone to his after party at Juliet Supper Club. Juliet Supper Club is know for A-list parties and is a great  lounge in New York City! After spending some time at Juliet’s we decided to end our night at the fashion hot spot, the Ace Hotel with some close friends.

Stay tuned for tonight’s post for jewelry Monday’s, and more of my diaries from NYFW this week.

Logan Neitzel FW 2011 Presentation

v. to ponder moodily or anxiously; to hover enveloping, as of something threatening, dark, or menacing. to loom. n. the protected young, offspring.

Feburary 13th , 10 A.M  the Andaz  Hotel in New York City was the place to be.  Here I was greeted by the aroma of incense, and a still dark presence of models covered in Indian war paint. Models shown unique leather fringe neck pieces, leather paneled wool pants, dresses with accents of leather, and edgy accessories of fingerless rabbit fur. Silhouettes were created  in lambskin leather, rabbit fur, deer hide, pig skin and distressed denim. I was so thrilled with this presentation, and was even more excited when I got the chance to speak with Logan after the show. Logan’s collection for  Fall/ Winter was inspired by an Indian warhead he had saw, from there he begun to create, “Brood”. He expressed his upbringing in a small farm like town in Idaho were he became familiar with different animal hides. This molded to him, and is now present in his design aesthetics. I really connect with Logan’s designs because they are extremely innovative, and edgy. Logan creates from what’s inside, and separates himself from trends.  I look forward to Logans future presentations, for we can all agree that this one was a great success.

Pamela Love FW11

Pamela Love FW 2011

So I am starting my NYFW shows adventures with Pamela Love.  Sadly we waited foreverrr to enter, and it was so packed we didn’t get in. I was so bummed. What I love about fashion week this year is how most of the shows I attended were presentations. I definitly perfer this over runway shows because you actually can get right up to the models and really see the detail , and craftsmanship that the designer puts into the collection. It’s rather exciting! The only issue with presentations is when it is so packed you can’t get in! So I managed to get these photos from the lucky ducks who did get into the show via Acne/ OC website.

So clearly I was even more sad when I saw how amazing Pamela’s collection was. The designer recently won 25,000 from the Ecco Domani Foundation!   Inspired by Indian and African tribes of the nineteenth century, the designer brought her favorite color turquoise into the mix this season. Presenting geometric, chunky pieces/ pendents, rose and yellow gold three finger spike rings, and studded cuffs! I’m clearly obsessed with this collection! Pamela love nailed this collection, and I’m sure we can all agree that we just can’t wait to see more from her!
